This position is remote friendly, but local to the Chicagoland area is preferred for occasional face-to-face creative collaboration. 

Job Summary

The Senior Graphic Designer will provide creative leadership and utilize strong design skills to work as the design lead for our various marketing and communication efforts, collaborating with multiple departments that serve a variety of audiences. This is a hands-on design position, as well as a creative leadership role. The Senior Graphic Designer will oversee and elevate Figo's visual brand identity through creative, strategic, and high-quality design in digital, web, and print to serve our brand’s mission, business objectives, and the customer journey.

Collaborating closely with the Sr. Creative Director, and the Marketing, Content Production, and UX teams, you’ll use your management and advanced design skills to maintain and evolve existing collateral, develop new visuals, and create original artwork alongside our existing design team in a fast-paced environment that celebrates design and customer experience.

The ideal Senior Designer will be an experienced manager, who can inspire and be inspired by others to take our creative efforts to the next level. The ideal candidate will be passionate about forward thinking design and delivering dynamic creative pieces that will be used across multiple channels, defining Figo’s visual identity. 

Candidates must provide a portfolio of work with their application.

Requirements

Duties/Responsibilities:

Design and develop various creative assets aligned with Figo’s design guidelines – including but not limited to advertising, social media content, web pages, flyers, brochures, business docs, presentations, email campaigns, signage, packaging, and swag.
Mentor, train, and project manage assignments for in-house and/or contract graphic designers
Establish art and design standards for production, productivity, quality, and brand alignment within the Design Team.
Create and define a visual language as an extension of the brand (illustrations, icons, colors, typography, etc.) curating, maintaining, and contributing to the brand ecosystem and asset library.
Be an advocate for consistent and cohesive design throughout the company, and externally through various partners.
Take a leadership approach to all projects, providing team motivation and inspiration.
Ensure the team adheres to current processes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, and proposing and creating processes and tools to support design operations.
Collaborate with marketing and sales divisions to develop roadmaps, aligning team priorities with business objectives to deliver high-quality work on time and on budget.
Obtain approvals by presenting layouts, graphics, mock-ups and final designs, encouraging members to provide feedback, and responding to internal commentary and requests.
Present or oversee presentation of final concepts and coordinate distribution and dissemination.
Continually iterate on concepts to make the brand relevant and relatable to our audience(s)

Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong composition, illustration, typography, and information design skills.
Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
Direct experience with the development and implementation of brand experiences.
Demonstrable design thinking and execution skills with a strong portfolio.
Strong creative vision with an understanding of business objectives.
Experience owning projects and mentoring junior team members.
Proficient use of industry standard creative tools.
Exceptional capability with layout design, web design, illustrations, typography, color, print production, and more.
Fluent in brand, marketing and design principles and best practices.
Incorporate feedback and take/give direction well.
Team player with strong management and presentation skills.
Proven ability to independently conceptualize and think critically about design

Education and Experience 

Bachelor’s degree in fine art, graphic design, or similar discipline
5+ years as a professional graphic designer

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree
Prior experience in a management role
Web development experience
Print and packaging design experience
