Associate Design Manager
This is a 100% remote work position. Work from home.
Severn River Publishing is a dynamic, fast-growing media company. We deliver entertaining stories to readers and audiobook listeners around the world.
We are looking for a talented Associate Design Manager to join our marketing team. This new hire will be responsible for all stages of book cover designs, and will lead the creation of website and advertising visual materials. This person will have a great opportunity for upward mobility as the company continues to grow. This position will report to the Marketing Director.
The Associate Design Manager is responsible for:
Project management for the development of all book cover designs
When needed, making adjustments to book cover designs by modifying cover text, layered files, and final files for ebooks, audiobook, and print books
Creating / managing the development of visual materials for social media, websites, email marketing, and digital advertisements
Liaising with authors, publishers, and the marketing team
Providing creative input to book titles and author branding
Keeping up with relevant competitor publications and industry design trends
Ensuring our cover designs match the genre, branding, and meet the highest quality standards
Improving website, social media, and all consumer-facing design quality
Must have:
College degree in Graphic Design or related field preferred
Mastery of typography, layout, composition, and color
Skilled in the use of design software, including Adobe Creative Suite, and InDesign
Knowledge of the stock and font licenses and how to work with them
Excellent project management skills
Self-motivated, fast learner
Has strong sense of honesty, integrity, selflessness
Strong proficiency in Google Workspace products (google docs, slides, sheets)
A passion for winning
Ability to work independently
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a remote, collaborative environment
Nice to have:
Experience in the publishing industry creating book cover designs
Experience in website design
Familiarity with Asana & Slack
